The best Porcini mushrooms are carefully cleaned, checked one by one for quality then placed in jars by hand, where the three different shades of brown typical of the three different varieties are cleverly arranged. The “Boletus Pinicola” is a reddish brown and comes from higher up in the mountains. The classic autumn mushroom is the “Boletus Edulis”, lighter in color. A darker shade of brown distinguishes the “Boletus Aereus”.
